Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche -
25 Jul 2009 - 26 Jul 2009

We are happy to inform you that Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche and his entourage together with the help of our Resident Lama Zotpa will be conducting 2 days of Dharma Teaching on Bardo and 2 empowerments from 25th July 2009 to 26th July 2009. Below is a brief biography of Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche

It is very fortunate and our good karma that Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche is giving Bardo teaching on the same day as Choekhor Duechen, i.e. the day where Buddha conducted the first teaching at the request of Indra & Brahama, Buddha turned the Wheel of Dharma at Sarnath, explaining the Four Norble Truth. Hence it's an auspicious day, Rinpoche will start the teaching by leading us to recite the Auspicious Prayer and offer the Auspicious Lamps to Lord Buddha.

We very much look forward to seeing you and your family; and friends' in Malaysia. The detailed program will be sent out nearer the time.

Thank you for your kind attention and attendance to Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche's visit. May the blessing of the Triple Gem be with you and your loved ones always.

Biography of Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche

The Great Compassionate "Mani-wa" Lama

Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche is the holder of the title "Mani-wa", which is a rare title conferred to the few practitioners in the world who are able to accumulate at least one billion "Om Mani Padme Hung" recitations. Rinpoche was ordained by the late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa in Rumtek Monastery.

Ven. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche

Every year Rinpoche will hold a few pujas at his monastery in Swayambhu, guiding over thousands of pratitioners in practicing 1000 arms and 1000 eys Avalokiteshvara and 4 arms Chenrezig. Over the past 20 years, the Mani recitation accumulated in the pujas had already exceeded twenty billion.

Rinpoche is the main retreat master at the three years retreat center in Pharping. Rinpoche has also constructed a nunnery located on the West of Kathmandu, which can accomodate over 100 nuns. On the other hand, another plan of constructing a monastery for monks on the East is currently under way.

Rinpoche teaches in a direct and comprehensive method which is easy to understand. He always impressed his audiences by incorporating some advices, stories and a sense of humour in his teachings.

It is rare and fortunate, in this degenerate age, that we are able to encounter such a great master and to receive empowerments and teachings from him. We encourage all to join us in this two days programmes.
